Anouka.ca centers on Anouk A., a Second Life avatar who composes visual nanofictions using objects sent to her inventory by more than 300 3D creators based in some forty countries. Through these objects, she constructs and photographs elaborate virtual scenes in which fashion, identity, fiction, and digital materiality converge.
Unfolding through Flickr and the website anouka.ca, the project existed simultaneously as an online photographic performance, a fictional identity, a visual narrative, and a continuously expanding collection of virtual objects. Highly active within the Second Life photography community, Anouk A. received several distinctions from her peers.
Anouk A. is the reincarnation, or “second life,” of Kyrie Source, the avatar who inhabited the first phase of the project.

Anouka.ca s’articule autour d’Anouk A., un avatar de Second Life qui compose des nanofictions visuelles à partir d’objets envoyés dans son inventaire par plus de 300 créateurs 3D établis dans une quarantaine de pays. À travers ces objets, elle construit et photographie des scènes virtuelles élaborées où convergent la mode, l’identité, la fiction et la matérialité numérique.
Déployé sur Flickr et sur le site anouka.ca, le projet existait simultanément comme performance photographique en ligne, identité fictionnelle, récit visuel et collection d’objets virtuels en constante expansion. Très active au sein de la communauté photographique de Second Life, Anouk A. a reçu plusieurs distinctions de la part de ses pairs.
Anouk A. est la réincarnation, ou la « seconde vie », de Kyrie Source, l’avatar qui habitait la première phase du projet.
